3 Tips For Marketing Your Small Business On Social Media

The advent and explosion of social media has been quite something! It can be hard to keep up with how this tool can be used to promote and grow your business. There’s so much information out there it will make your head spin! Here are three tips for wisely utilizing your small business social media.

1: Don’t try to do every single platform perfectly.
There are so many choices for how to market your business on social media. Facebook page, Facebook group, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, and more. Which should you be using? And how? Each business is going to be different, but we recommend only focusing on 1-2 platforms, honing in on your audience there, and figuring out what does and doesn’t work, before expanding to additional platforms. Some factors to consider before you choose your platform: Primary age and other demographics of your target customer base. Where are they most likely to hang out?
Product or service you are selling. Is it best promoted with photos or text based posts?

2: Provide value. Don’t make every single post “Please buy my stuff/services”. Provide helpful information and articles that will connect with your audience. Focus on building a community and a rapport. This will serve you well in the long run!

3: Make contacting you simple. So many businesses have outdated contact information as part of their web presence. Seems simple and basic but getting this right could set you a step above your competition! Make sure your contact phone and email, business hours, and basic information are easy to access and understand on any platforms you have a presence in.

This is just scratching the surface of social media marketing, but we hope it is useful information for you!
